Description
Wimbledon School of Art, founded in 1890, specialises in art and design education at foundation, undergraduate, postgraduate and research degree level. The academic staff are all practising artists, designers and scholars in their own fields. The location of the School is near enough to London to have the full benefit of it as a resource, but far enough away to allow students the time and space to make work.
Curriculum Overview
The School offers a Foundation course in art and design, an FdA Foundation course in Theatre Lighting Design and Practice, as well as undergraduate degrees, postgraduate degrees, and research degrees in Fine Art and Theatre.
Student Life
The School is a close-knit community of fewer than 1000 students. The student union organises social events throughout the year including film nights, cocktail evenings and the Graduation Ball. The students also organise private views to coincide with their exhibitions.
Special Services
The welfare officer and international student officer advices students on accommodation and welfare issues. Students are actively encouraged to partake in the Erasmus exchange scheme. The School also houses The Centre for Drawing - an active onsite gallery.
Housing
Some Halls of Residence available. Extensive accommodation list sent to all accepted students.
