Description
Founded in 1915, Webster University is a private, independent, coeducational, liberal arts university with multiple locations serving over 20,000 undergraduate and graduate students worldwide. The University's home campus is in St. Louis, Missouri, USA. Webster University has demonstrated a global commitment to education and established campuses in Geneva, Switzerland (1978); Vienna, Austria (1981); Leiden, The Netherlands (1983); London, UK (1986); and Cha-am, Thailand (1999). All locations are accredited by the North Central Association in the USA. All locations offer full undergraduate and graduate degree programs. The University promotes student mobility within its international network.
Curriculum Overview
In Geneva, 4-year undergraduate programs include International Relations, Business (BSBA), Finance, Management, Media Communications, Psychology, Computer Science, and Information Management. Minors and Certificates include Marketing, Computer Applications, Web Site Design, Web Site Development, International Human Rights, Economics, Refugee Studies, French, Photography, Video Production, Philosophy, and Sociology. Graduate majors include International Relations, MBA, Human Resources Management, Management & Leadership, and Counseling.
Student Life
100 nationalities populate the Geneva campus, where there is no dominant majority culture. The Living & Learning Center, opened in 2005, houses freshmen in single en-suite units, and combines classrooms with social and leisure facilities open to the entire campus community, including a gym and a TV lounge. Housing assistance is provided throughout the program. Student-run activities receive strong institutional support and include student government, sports teams, cultural events, trips, parties, and charity/non profit sector contributions such as the Webster Works Worldwide program and the Leadership Certificate. Small classes (max. 20 students) and frequent individual advising sessions provide a supportive environment in a small, tightly knit campus community. Professors are experienced practinioners and balance theoretical learning with real-world practical experience gleaned from their daily field work at local multinationals and international organizations. Students may practice their new skills through internships and co-corricular activities such as the student newspaper, the Business Club, etc.

Study abroad at Webster's international campuses is facilitated and encouraged to create a seamless international campus network. On-campus services include new student orientation, housing, student welfare, a professional counseling service, and career counseling.
