Description
Schiller International University is a private, American university founded in 1964 to provide undergraduate and graduate degree programs to students from around the world. Schiller International University (SIU) offers students the opportunity to pursue undergraduate and graduate studies in the US (Florida) and 7 European locations: London, Paris, Strasbourg, Madrid, Heidelberg, Engelberg and Leysin (Switzerland). SIU has a truly international student body with students from over 130 countries. The language of instruction is ENGLISH at all campuses. SIU students are encouraged to transfer from one country to another, remaining in the same university with no loss of time or credit. SIU is accredited in the US by ACICS to award associate's, bachelor's, master's degrees.
Curriculum Overview
Programmes of study include: BA, BS, MA/MBA degrees, AA and AS degrees in International Business and Hotel & Tourism Management and IT Management. Diploma Programmes in Hotel Management.
Student Life
Schiller International University multinational student body is drawn from a variety of countries and backgrounds. The student body is comprised of men and women from over 100 countries and there are over 20,000 SIU Alumni worlwide. College students at SIU study in small classes allow maximum attention to the needs of the individual student. The friendly atmosphere found at each campus aids students in adjusting to a different country and culture and, for some, to a new language.
The intercultural exchange and contact with students from all over the world broadens understanding of other peoples and provides valuable experience for international careers. Helpful staff provide assistance with practical matters, such as housing, as well as with academic matters, such as course selection and career opportunities.
Special Services
CP Language Institutes are closely affiliated with SIU and offer following language courses: English in London, Florida, Switzerland and Barcelona, German in Heidelberg, Spanish in Madrid and Barcelona and French in Leysin/Switzerland. CP has over 40 years of experience in the language school sector.
Special courses offered at the affiliated High school Programs: 9th Grade to 12th Grade in Florida. Tennis & High school Program or Tennis & Language Program in Barcelona. Intensive English training at both high school locations.
Financial Aid
Schiller International University is approved for Federal and Veterans' training programs. Schiller also offers limited institutional scholarships to all students regardless of citizenship. SIU offers a variety of scholarships and institutional grants based upon academic merit and financial need to students who qualify.
Housing
SIU has its own student housing at the Florida, Heidelberg, London, Switzerland and Strasbourg campuses. For the Paris and Madrid campuses, students receive assistance from the SIU housing department to find suitable accommodation.
