Ayr College is situated on the West Coast of Scotland, 30 miles south of the city of Glasgow.
Ayr College has welcomed international students from around the world for many years.
We offer a large variety of course for over 8000 students.

Ayr College has a well established students association which runs many events for students throughout the term time.
Ayr is a lively town with many leisure facilities including ice rink, cinema, football ground, parks, swimming pools, tennis courts and lots of other amenities.
Special Services
International students studying in Scotland benefit from a unique scheme which allows international students to stay in Scotland at the end of their studies to work for up to two years.
The scheme is known as the Fresh Talent Initiative, it only operates in Scotland, not the rest of the UK.
International students can also take on part time work in Scotland during their studies if they apply for an entry clearance visa with work permit.
Financial Aid
The Fresh Talent Initiative allows international students to stay in Scotland to work after their studies to help pay back any student loans they may have borrowed. This is a unique scheme which operated only in Scotland.
Students in Scotland are also allowed to work during their studies if they have the correct visa.
Housing
Ayr College has a bank of staff who are able to help international students find appropriate accommodation.
The College shares Halls of Residence with another college in the town. Single study bedrooms are available ie with a shared kitchen and bathroom for a fee of around £48 per week. You would have access to sports facilities, the library and computers at this college. It is not within walking distance, you would need to take a bus. The bus service is every 20 minutes and costs approximately £1.
You can also cost accommodation in Ayr which is usually within walking distance or on a bus route. There are three types available:-
Flat sharing with other students. The rent would be approximately £200 per month.
Bed and breakfast - You will be provided with your breakfast in addition to your accommodation
Bed, breakfast, evening meal. (Let us know if you have special dietary requirements.) - You will be provided with a breakfast and evening meal in addition to your accommodation. This is usually staying with a host family. It is more homely and you would be expected to speak English and do your own laundry. This style of accommodation costs approximately £100 per week and some may also ask for a deposit.
